Venadex ER 50mg Tablet contains desvenlafaxine in an extended-release formulation. It belongs to the serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor class of antidepressants and is prescribed for major depressive disorder in adults. Desvenlafaxine increases the availability of serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain, which can help improve mood, energy, interest, concentration, and functioning. Improvement may take several weeks, so the medicine should be continued exactly as directed. Swallow the tablet whole with water at the same time each day. Do not crush, chew, split, or dissolve it because this can interfere with its extended-release action. Never stop Venadex ER suddenly unless the prescriber provides a gradual reduction plan, as abrupt discontinuation may cause dizziness, irritability, headache, nausea, sleep disturbances, anxiety, or sensations. Common side effects include nausea, dry mouth, dizziness, sweating, constipation, reduced appetite, insomnia, sleepiness, and sexual difficulties.
