Velosef 90ml Suspension 250mg
Velosef 250 mg/5 mL Suspension is a prescription antibiotic containing cephradine, a first-generation cephalosporin used to treat bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. It may be prescribed for infections affecting the throat, ears, respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues. The medicine works by preventing bacteria from building a protective cell wall, which weakens and destroys the bacteria. It is not effective against viral illnesses such as colds or influenza. The suspension should be prepared according to the instructions on the pack and shaken well before every dose. Measure each dose with an oral syringe or proper measuring spoon rather than a household spoon. The dose and duration depend on the patient’s age, weight, kidney function, type of infection, and the doctor’s instructions. Complete the prescribed course even if symptoms improve earlier. Possible side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, headache, or skin rash. Stop using it and seek urgent medical help if breathing difficulty, facial swelling, a severe rash, or persistent diarrhoea occurs. Inform the doctor about cephalosporin or penicillin allergies and kidney problems or liver disease.
