Valsar-M Tablets 5/160mg are a prescription antihypertensive medicine containing amlodipine 5mg and valsartan 160mg. This combination is used to manage high blood pressure in adults when treatment with more than one medicine is considered appropriate. Amlodipine is a calcium-channel blocker that relaxes and widens blood vessels, while valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker that prevents a hormone from tightening the blood vessels. Their combined action improves blood flow and helps lower blood pressure. Consistent blood-pressure control can reduce the long-term strain placed on the heart, arteries, kidneys, and brain.
