Trexol Injection

Trexol Injection

Trexol Injection 50mg/2ml contains methotrexate, a prescription medicine that belongs to the antimetabolite class. It works by interfering with folic acid metabolism and slowing the growth of rapidly dividing cells. Depending on the prescribed treatment plan, methotrexate may be used for certain cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, breast cancer, and other malignancies. It may also be prescribed in carefully selected cases of severe rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, or other immune-related conditions when standard treatments are unsuitable. Trexol must only be prepared and administered by a qualified healthcare professional experienced in methotrexate therapy. The dose, route, and treatment schedule vary considerably according to the condition, body size, laboratory results, kidney and liver function, and response to treatment. Regular blood counts and liver and kidney monitoring are essential. Common effects may include nausea, vomiting, mouth sores, loss of appetite, tiredness, or reduced blood-cell counts. Serious toxicity can occur, so patients should immediately report fever, infection, unusual bleeding, breathing difficulty, severe diarrhoea, or yellowing of the skin. Trexol is not suitable for self-medication and must be used strictly under specialist supervision at all times.
