Titan 250mg IV Injection is a prescription, broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic containing Ceftriaxone Sodium . As a third-generation cephalosporin, it exerts a potent bactericidal effect by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) in the bacterial cytoplasmic membrane, which disrupts peptidoglycan synthesis, weakens the cell wall, and causes bacterial autolysis.This low-dose formulation is highly effective against vulnerable Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens and is stable against bacterial beta-lactamases. It is primarily indicated for treating less severe systemic bacterial infections, acute bacterial otitis media, uncomplicated urinary tract infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, and pediatric infections requiring precise, weight-based dosing. Supplied as a sterile, lyophilized powder, the vial is reconstituted using a compatible sterile diluent. For intravenous administration, it must be delivered via slow direct I.V. injection over 2 to 4 minutes or as an intermittent infusion. It is contraindicated in patients with cephalosporin hypersensitivity or a history of severe immediate penicillin allergies. Additionally, it must never be administered with calcium-containing I.V. solutions due to fatal precipitation risks.
