Tamurone SR 0.4 mg Tablet is a sustained-release formulation of Tamsulosin used primarily for the treatment of urinary symptoms caused by Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). It belongs to a class of drugs called alpha-1 adrenergic blockers, which work by relaxing the smooth muscles in the prostate gland and bladder neck. This relaxation helps improve urine flow, reduces difficulty in urination, and decreases symptoms such as weak stream, straining, and frequent nighttime urination. The “SR” (sustained release) formulation ensures that the medicine is released gradually, providing consistent symptom control throughout the day with once-daily dosing. It is usually taken after the same meal each day, and the capsule should be swallowed whole without crushing or chewing. Common side effects include dizziness, headache, nasal congestion, fatigue, and sometimes abnormal ejaculation.
