Sitapin Tablet 50mg contains Sitagliptin, an oral anti-diabetic medicine belonging to the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor class. It is used to help control high blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, usually together with an appropriate diet, regular physical activity, and other lifestyle measures. Sitagliptin works by increasing the activity of natural incretin hormones in the body. These hormones help the pancreas release more insulin when blood glucose levels are high and reduce the amount of glucose produced by the liver. This action helps improve overall blood sugar control without usually causing significant weight gain. Sitapin 50mg may be prescribed alone or in combination with other anti-diabetic medicines, depending on the patient’s condition and response to treatment.
