Sita-Met XR 50 / 500mg
Sita-Met XR 50/500mg is a prescription tablet used to help adults manage type 2 diabetes when a doctor considers both sitagliptin and metformin appropriate. Each tablet contains sitagliptin 50mg and metformin hydrochloride 500mg in an extended-release formulation. Sitagliptin helps the body respond to rising blood sugar after meals, while metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves the body’s use of insulin. Together, they support blood sugar control alongside a balanced diet, activity, and monitoring by your healthcare professional. The extended-release metformin component releases gradually. Take Sita-Met XR with food, preferably with the evening meal, as prescribed. Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush, split, or chew it. Your doctor will determine the number of tablets based on your treatment plan and kidney function. Possible side effects include diarrhea, stomach discomfort, and headache. Tell your doctor about kidney problems, dehydration, or other diabetes treatments before use. Seek urgent medical advice if you develop abdominal pain or symptoms of lactic acidosis. This product is not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Do not change your dose without medical advice
