S-Gliptin Plus Tablets 50mg/1000mg contain Sitagliptin 50mg and Metformin HCl 1000mg, a combination of two oral antidiabetic agents used to help improve blood glucose control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Sitagliptin belongs to the DPP-4 inhibitor class. It increases the activity of incretin hormones, helping the body release insulin when blood glucose levels are elevated and reducing excess glucose production by the liver. Metformin belongs to the biguanide class and works mainly by decreasing glucose production in the liver and improving the body's response to insulin. S-Gliptin Plus may be prescribed when diet and exercise alone are insufficient or when treatment with sitagliptin or metformin alone does not provide adequate blood glucose control. It should be used as part of a treatment plan that includes appropriate diet, regular physical activity, and blood glucose monitoring.
