Procye 5mg Tablet is a prescription medicine containing procyclidine hydrochloride 5mg. It belongs to the anticholinergic group of medicines and is used to help control symptoms of Parkinsonism, including muscle stiffness, tremors, slow movement, walking difficulty, excessive saliva and reduced movement. It may also be prescribed to manage certain movement-related side effects caused by antipsychotic medicines, such as drug-induced Parkinsonism, akathisia and acute dystonic reactions. Procyclidine works by blocking the activity of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger in the nervous system. This helps restore the balance between acetylcholine and dopamine involved in movement control, reducing stiffness, shaking and involuntary muscle contractions. Take Procye exactly as directed by the doctor. Common side effects may include dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, nausea, dizziness, difficulty passing urine and confusion. Use cautiously in people with glaucoma, urinary retention, enlarged prostate, heart conditions or gastrointestinal obstruction. Avoid driving until its effects are known. Do not stop treatment suddenly without medical advice. Store the tablets in a cool, dry place, protected from sunlight, and keep them away from children.
