Orglu Tablets 80mg/80mg

Orglu Tablets (80mg/80mg) is a fixed-dose combination, non-atropinic musculotropic antispasmodic formulation containing Phloroglucinol (80mg) and Trimethylphloroglucinol (80mg). It acts directly on visceral smooth muscle fibers without displaying anticholinergic systemic side effects. The active components suppress smooth muscle hypertonicity and spontaneous spasms by inhibiting voltage-dependent calcium channels and direct intracellular signaling pathways within smooth muscle cells. This activity relieves visceral pain while preserving normal physiological gut motility and cardiovascular parameters. Clinically, Orglu Tablets are indicated for managing acute and chronic painful spasms of the gastrointestinal, biliary, and urogenital tracts. Primary clinical uses include irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), intestinal colic, hepatic/biliary colic, renal colic, painful dysmenorrhea, and supportive symptomatic management of painful uterine contractions during pregnancy. The standard adult dosage is 2 tablets taken orally at the onset of pain, followed by additional doses as required, up to a maximum of 6 tablets daily in 2–3 divided doses. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to phloroglucinol derivatives or mechanical intestinal obstruction. Common side effects are rare but may include mild cutaneous allergic reactions, skin rash, nausea, or transient hypotension.
