Novonorm Tablets 2mg

Novonorm Tablets 2mg

NovoNorm Tablets 2 mg contain repaglinide, a fast-acting oral antidiabetic medicine used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults. Repaglinide stimulates the pancreas to release insulin around mealtimes, helping reduce the rise in blood glucose that occurs after eating. It is prescribed alongside an appropriate diet, regular physical activity and blood-glucose monitoring, and may sometimes be combined with metformin. Take NovoNorm exactly as prescribed, usually within 30 minutes before a main meal. If you skip a meal, skip the corresponding dose to reduce the risk of low blood sugar. Do not double a dose after forgetting one. Hypoglycaemia is an important possible side effect and may cause sweating, hunger, trembling, dizziness, weakness, blurred vision or a fast heartbeat. Carry a rapid source of sugar and follow your doctor’s instructions for treating low glucose. Other effects can include stomach pain, diarrhoea or headache. Inform your doctor about liver or kidney problems and all other medicines, especially gemfibrozil or clopidogrel. NovoNorm is not used for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Regular glucose testing is necessary during treatment to assess treatment response
