Meteor Tablets 500 mg contain metformin hydrochloride, an oral antidiabetic agent used to help manage type 2 diabetes mellitus. Metformin works mainly by reducing glucose production in the liver, decreasing glucose absorption from the intestine and improving the body’s response to insulin. These actions help lower elevated blood sugar when combined with an appropriate diet, regular physical activity and medical monitoring. Meteor may be prescribed alone or alongside other diabetes treatments, depending on the patient’s condition. Take this tablet exactly as directed by your doctor, preferably with or immediately after food to reduce stomach discomfort. Swallow it with water and do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.
