Lidocaine Numbing Spray Solution 10%

Lidocaine Numbing Spray Solution 10% is a topical local anesthetic formulation containing lidocaine (10mg per spray actuation). It acts by reversibly binding to voltage-gated sodium channels along the internal surface of nerve cell membranes. This inhibition blocks influx of sodium ions, preventing initiation and conduction of action potentials responsible for transmitting pain signals along sensory nerves. It provides rapid-onset local analgesia across mucosal membranes and non-intact skin. Clinically, Lidocaine 10% Spray is indicated for short-term topical anesthesia of mucous membranes during minor surgical, diagnostic, or dental procedures. Primary uses include suppressing the gag reflex during upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, oral or laryngeal procedures, reducing discomfort during urinary catheterization or minor dermatological interventions, and temporary relief of localized superficial mucosal pain. The typical dosage involves 1 to 5 actuations applied directly to the target area, adjusted according to the procedure and patient size; maximum single and daily dosage caps must be strictly observed. Onset of action occurs within 1 to 5 minutes, lasting approximately 10 to 15 minutes. It is contraindicated in patients with known amide-type anesthetic hypersensitivity. Systemic absorption risks include methemoglobinemia, severe hypotension, arrhythmias, or central nervous system toxicity.
