Leflotec Tablets 250mg

Leflotec Tablets 250mg contain levofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. Doctors may prescribe it for selected urinary tract, kidney, respiratory, prostate, skin, or soft-tissue infections. Levofloxacin works by blocking bacterial enzymes required for DNA replication and repair, which stops bacterial growth and helps eliminate the infection. It does not treat colds, influenza, or other viral illnesses. Take Leflotec exactly as prescribed and complete the full treatment course unless your doctor advises otherwise. The tablet may be taken with or without food and should be swallowed with water. Keep adequate spacing from antacids, sucralfate, iron, zinc, or mineral supplements because these products may reduce absorption. Common side effects include nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, headache, dizziness, and sleep disturbance. Fluoroquinolones can rarely cause serious tendon injury, nerve problems, severe allergic reactions, abnormal heart rhythm, blood-sugar changes, or severe diarrhoea. Stop taking it and seek medical advice if tendon pain, numbness, weakness, swelling, breathing difficulty, or a serious skin reaction occurs. Dose adjustment may be required in kidney impairment.
