Ketrodil 30mg Injection

Ketrodil 30mg Injection is a highly potent, injectable non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) containing ketorolac tromethamine. It operates by non-selectively inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), which blocks peripheral prostaglandin synthesis to deliver strong analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects. Its analgesic efficacy is comparable to low-dose opioids but without associated central nervous system respiratory depression. Clinically, Ketrodil 30mg is restricted to the short-term management of moderate-to-severe acute pain requiring opioid-level analgesia, most commonly post-operative pain or acute renal colic. Administration is via deep intramuscular (IM) injection or slow intravenous (IV) bolus over at least 15 seconds. The typical regimen is 30mg every 6 hours, not exceeding a maximum daily dose of 120mg (60mg for elderly or patients under 50kg). Total treatment duration must not exceed 5 consecutive days due to exponential toxicity risks. It is strictly contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, advanced renal impairment, volume depletion, or coagulation disorders. Common adverse reactions include injection site pain, somnolence, dizziness, nausea, and fluid retention.
