Itollium 50mg Tablets contain itopride hydrochloride, a prokinetic medicine used to relieve gastrointestinal symptoms associated with reduced stomach movement and functional dyspepsia. It may help manage uncomfortable fullness after eating, early satiety, upper abdominal discomfort, bloating, reduced appetite, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting when these symptoms are not caused by an ulcer or another structural disease. Itopride works through two complementary actions: it blocks dopamine D2 receptors and inhibits acetylcholinesterase. These actions increase the availability of acetylcholine, helping improve stomach contractions, coordinate digestive movement, and support faster gastric emptying. Itollium should be taken only on a doctor’s advice, usually before meals according to the prescribed schedule. Common side effects may include abdominal discomfort, diarrhoea, constipation, headache, dizziness, or increased saliva. Rarely, it may alter prolactin levels or affect liver function and blood-cell counts.
