Gluconormet 2 mg/500 mg Tablets is an oral anti-diabetic medicine used for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise alone are not enough to control blood sugar levels. It is a fixed-dose combination tablet that usually contains: Glimepiride 2 mg – a sulfonylurea that increases insulin release from the pancreas Metformin 500 mg – a biguanide that reduces glucose production in the liver and improves the body’s sensitivity to insulin By working through two different mechanisms, Gluconormet helps lower both fasting and post-meal blood sugar levels, improving overall glycemic control and reducing the risk of long-term complications such as kidney damage, nerve disorders, and cardiovascular disease.
