Febstat Tablet 40mg

Febstat 40 mg Tablet contains febuxostat 40 mg, a medicine used to lower high levels of uric acid in the blood. It belongs to the xanthine oxidase inhibitor class and works by blocking the enzyme responsible for producing uric acid. This helps prevent the formation of urate crystals that can lead to painful gout attacks and joint damage. Febstat 40 mg is indicated for the long-term management of chronic hyperuricemia in adults with gout and is not intended for the treatment of an acute gout attack. The tablet is usually taken once daily, with or without food, exactly as prescribed by a healthcare professional. During the first few weeks of treatment, some patients may experience gout flare-ups as uric acid deposits begin to dissolve, but treatment is generally continued unless advised otherwise by a doctor.Common side effects include nausea, joint pain, rash, and mild changes in liver function tests.
