ESANTE 40mg IV Injection is a prescription proton pump inhibitor (PPI) containing Esomeprazole Sodium . It suppresses gastric acid secretion by selectively inhibiting the $\text{H}^+/\text{K}^+$-ATPase enzyme system (the proton pump) within the parietal cells of the stomach lining. This intravenous formulation serves as an alternative for patients unable to take oral medications. It is primarily indicated for the short-term management of severe Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) presenting with erosive esophagitis, the treatment and prophylaxis of NSAID-induced gastric ulcers, and the reduction of rebleeding risk following therapeutic endoscopy for acute peptic ulcers. Presented as a sterile, lyophilized powder, each single-dose vial requires reconstitution with $5\text{ mL}$ of $0.9\%$ Sodium Chloride. It can be administered via a slow intravenous injection over a minimum of 3 minutes, or further diluted for an intravenous infusion lasting 10 to 30 minutes. Common adverse reactions include injection site erythema, headaches, diarrhea, and nausea. Concomitant administration with clopidogrel or atazanavir should be avoided due to significant drug interaction profiles
