Duricef 90ml Syrup 250mg/5ml
Duricef 250 mg/5 mL Oral Suspension is a prescription antibiotic containing cefadroxil, a first-generation cephalosporin. It is used to treat bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, including certain throat and tonsil infections, urinary tract infections, and skin or soft-tissue infections. Cefadroxil works by interfering with bacterial cell-wall formation, which weakens and kills susceptible bacteria. It does not treat viral illnesses such as colds or influenza. The dry powder must be reconstituted with the correct quantity of water according to the bottle instructions. Shake the bottle thoroughly before every dose and measure the medicine using an oral syringe, medicine cup, or calibrated spoon. The prescribed amount depends on the patient’s age, body weight, kidney function, infection type, and severity. Complete the entire treatment course even if symptoms improve earlier. Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, or skin rash. Seek urgent medical help if breathing difficulty, facial swelling, severe rash, or persistent watery or bloody diarrhoea develops. Tell the doctor about cephalosporin or penicillin allergies, kidney disease, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and all other medicines being used.
