Doxagit 4 mg Tablet is a prescription medicine containing doxazosin, an alpha-1 adrenergic blocker used in the management of high blood pressure and symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It works by relaxing blood vessels, helping blood flow more easily and reducing vascular resistance. In men with an enlarged prostate, it also relaxes muscles around the prostate and bladder outlet, which may improve urine flow and reduce symptoms such as difficulty starting urination, a weak stream, and frequent urination. Doxagit should be used only on the advice of a doctor because the dose is usually started low and adjusted according to the patient’s response. Dizziness, weakness, headache, tiredness, or a sudden fall in blood pressure when standing may occur, particularly after the first dose or a dose increase. Patients should rise slowly from sitting or lying positions and use caution with activities requiring alertness. Do not stop the medicine suddenly without medical advice. Inform the doctor about liver problems, low blood pressure, cataract surgery, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or other blood-pressure medicines. Store in a cool, dry place away from children.
