Darixo Tablets 50mg contain daridorexant, a dual orexin receptor antagonist prescribed for adults with insomnia characterised by difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or both. Orexin is a natural brain signalling system that promotes wakefulness. By temporarily blocking orexin receptors, Darixo reduces excessive wake signals and helps support sleep without directly activating traditional sedative pathways. The tablet should be taken once nightly within approximately 30 minutes before bedtime, only when at least seven hours remain before planned awakening. A heavy meal close to the dose may delay its effect. Darixo can cause sleepiness, dizziness, fatigue, reduced alertness, sleep paralysis, vivid perceptions, or unusual sleep-related behaviour. Do not drive, operate machinery, consume alcohol, or combine it with other sedating treatments unless your doctor confirms it is safe. It is contraindicated in narcolepsy. Inform your doctor about breathing problems, liver disease, depression, substance-use history, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and all medicines or supplements being used. Take only the prescribed dose and never repeat it during the same night. Seek urgent help for severe behavioural changes, suicidal thoughts, breathing difficulty, or complex sleep behaviours after treatment.
