CO-AMOXI INJECTION 1.2MG

Co-Amoxi 1.2g Injection is a broad-spectrum, intravenous combination antibiotic containing amoxicillin sodium and potassium clavulanate in a 5:1 ratio. Each sterile vial delivers 1000mg (1g) of amoxicillin, a penicillin derivative that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, and 200mg of clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects amoxicillin from enzymatic degradation by resistant bacterial strains. This injectable formulation is indicated for severe, complicated infections requiring immediate systemic therapy, including severe community-acquired pneumonia, intra-abdominal sepsis, pelvic inflammatory disease, bone and joint infections, and high-risk surgical prophylaxis. Administration is strictly restricted to intravenous (IV) injection over 3 to 4 minutes or via IV infusion over 30 to 40 minutes. It must be reconstituted using Water for Injections or Normal Saline, and it is highly unstable if mixed with glucose or dextrose fluids. Dosage requires reduction in patients with a creatinine clearance less than 30 ml/min. It is strictly contraindicated in individuals with penicillin hypersensitivity or prior co-amoxiclav-induced hepatic dysfunction. Common adverse effects include injection site phlebitis, diarrhea, and nausea.
