Cipval 500mg Tablets contain ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. Doctors may prescribe it for selected urinary tract, gastrointestinal, respiratory, skin, bone, joint, or other infections after evaluating the patient and, when necessary, laboratory results. Ciprofloxacin works by blocking bacterial enzymes called DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which bacteria need to copy and repair their genetic material. This stops bacterial growth and helps eliminate the infection. Cipval does not work against viral illnesses such as the common cold or flu. It should be taken only on a qualified healthcare professional’s prescription, and the complete prescribed course should be followed unless the doctor advises otherwise. Common side effects may include nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, headache, dizziness, or changes in taste. Ciprofloxacin can rarely cause serious tendon injury, nerve problems, central nervous system effects, severe allergy, abnormal heart rhythm, or worsening of myasthenia gravis.
