Ciproxin Suspension 250mg/5ml contains ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections. It works by blocking enzymes that bacteria need to reproduce and repair their genetic material, helping stop the infection from spreading. Doctors may prescribe it for selected urinary tract, gastrointestinal, respiratory, skin, bone, joint, or other susceptible bacterial infections. It does not treat viral illnesses such as colds or flu. Use Ciproxin only when prescribed, as the dose and treatment duration depend on the patient’s age, weight, kidney function, infection type, and clinical response. Shake the prepared suspension thoroughly for approximately 15 seconds before each dose and use an accurate measuring device. Swallow the granules without chewing. Complete the prescribed course unless the doctor advises otherwise. Do not take it together with dairy products alone, antacids, sucralfate, or supplements containing iron, calcium, magnesium, or zinc; ask a pharmacist about appropriate spacing. Common effects include nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, headache, and rash.
