Ciprosteer 250mg Tablet is a brand of Ciprofloxacin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections. It belongs to the fluoroquinolone class and works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication and repair. This action stops bacterial growth and leads to the elimination of infection. It is commonly prescribed for urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal infections such as infectious diarrhea, skin and soft tissue infections, and certain bone or joint infections. It is not effective against viral infections like the common cold or flu. The tablet is usually taken twice daily, depending on the severity and type of infection. It should be swallowed with plenty of water and can be taken with or without food, although dairy products alone should be avoided near dosing time as they may reduce absorption.
