Ciniqua 60mg Capsules contain duloxetine hydrochloride, a potent serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). By inhibiting the central reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine, it elevates extracellular levels of these neurotransmitters, modulating mood stability and enhancing descending inhibitory pain pathways within the central nervous system. Clinically, Ciniqua is indicated for major depressive disorder (MDD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, and chronic musculoskeletal pain. The 20mg delayed-release capsule serves as an initial titration dose or part of a divided daily regimen. Capsules must be swallowed whole to preserve the enteric coating. Therapy must never be discontinued abruptly due to the risk of severe discontinuation syndrome. It carries a black box warning for increased suicidal ideation in young adults. Concomitant use with Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) is strictly contraindicated to prevent life-threatening serotonin syndrome. Alcohol must be avoided due to risks of hepatotoxicity. Common adverse effects include nausea, dry mouth, somnolence, increased sweating, and orthostatic hypotension. Close monitoring for urinary retention or elevated blood pressure is clinically recommended.
