This formulation is primarily indicated for treating and preventing peptic ulcer disease (gastric and duodenal ulcers) and managing gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It also provides reliable relief from chronic heartburn, acid indigestion, and pathological hypersecretory conditions like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. The standard adult regimen typically involves taking one tablet twice daily with meals and at bedtime, or a single dose before sleep to curb nocturnal acid production.
