Celampa Tablets 25mg

Celampa 25mg is an oral antidiabetic medication containing Empagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor. It lowers elevated blood sugar levels by preventing the kidneys from reabsorbing glucose, allowing excess sugar to be excreted through urine. Celampa is prescribed primarily as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Beyond glycemic management, it provides established cardiorenal protective benefits, reducing the risk of cardiovascular death, heart failure hospitalizations, and slowing the progression of chronic kidney disease.The typical dosage is 25mg taken orally once daily, with or without food. Common adverse effects include urinary tract infections, genital fungal infections, increased urination, and mild volume depletion or dehydration. Patients should maintain adequate hydration during treatment. It is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment, those on dialysis, or individuals with a history of severe hypersensitivity to empagliflozin.
