Bone-Lift 0.5mcg Tablets contain alfacalcidol, a prescription vitamin D analogue used to help regulate calcium and phosphate levels in the body. After conversion in the liver to its active form, alfacalcidol increases calcium absorption from the intestine and supports normal bone mineralisation. Doctors may prescribe it for conditions associated with disturbed calcium metabolism, including renal bone disease, hypoparathyroidism, vitamin D–related osteomalacia or rickets, and selected cases of osteoporosis. Bone-Lift is not an ordinary vitamin supplement and should not be taken without medical supervision. The appropriate dose depends on the patient’s condition, kidney function, blood-test results, dietary calcium intake, and response to treatment. Regular monitoring of calcium, phosphate, kidney function, and related laboratory values may be required. Excessive alfacalcidol can cause high calcium levels. Possible symptoms include nausea, vomiting, constipation, weakness, headache, increased thirst, frequent urination, confusion, or an irregular heartbeat. Stop taking the medicine and contact a doctor if symptoms of high calcium occur. Inform the physician about kidney stones, high calcium levels, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and all medicines or supplements, particularly calcium, vitamin D, thiazide diuretics, digoxin, antacids, or anticonvulsants.
