Adrance Tablets 10mg
Adrance Tablets 10mg contain empagliflozin, an oral medicine used to improve blood-sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It belongs to the sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitor class. Empagliflozin works in the kidneys by reducing the reabsorption of glucose and allowing excess glucose to leave the body through urine. Adrance is prescribed alongside an appropriate diet, regular physical activity, and blood-glucose monitoring. Depending on the patient’s condition, empagliflozin may also be prescribed to reduce certain cardiovascular risks, manage heart failure, or slow the progression of chronic kidney disease. Take the tablet exactly as directed by your doctor, usually once daily, with or without food. Maintain adequate hydration unless your doctor has advised fluid restriction. Common side effects include increased urination, thirst, urinary tract infections, and genital fungal infections. It may also cause dizziness or low blood pressure due to fluid loss. When combined with insulin or sulfonylureas, the risk of low blood sugar may increase. Seek urgent medical attention for nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, breathing difficulty, severe weakness, or unusual drowsiness, as these may indicate diabetic ketoacidosis even when blood sugar is not extremely high.
