Adalat LA Tablet 30mg

Adalat LA 30mg is a prolonged-release prescription tablet containing nifedipine, a calcium-channel blocker used to manage high blood pressure. Nifedipine relaxes and widens blood vessels, reducing resistance to blood flow and helping lower blood pressure. Depending on local prescribing guidance, prolonged-release nifedipine may also be used to prevent chronic stable angina; it is not intended to relieve an angina attack. The tablet releases medicine gradually to provide sustained action and must be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush, chew, split, or dissolve it, as this can interfere with controlled release. Take Adalat LA exactly as prescribed, at the same time each day. Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice because they can increase nifedipine levels and the risk of adverse effects. Common effects include headache, flushing, dizziness, constipation, palpitations, and swelling of the ankles or legs. Rise slowly if you feel light-headed. Seek urgent medical help for fainting, severe chest pain, breathing difficulty, or facial swelling.
